Nutella Puff Pastry Twists

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed

  • ½ - 1 cup Nutella

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon whole milk

  • Coarse (turbinado) sugar, for sprinkling

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400℉. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. Unroll one puff pastry sheet. Evenly spread the Nutella over the whole sheet, and then cover with second puff pastry sheet.

  3. Gently roll the layered puff pastry with a rolling pin. Use a pizza cutter to cut the pastry, lengthwise, into strips about 1-inch wide.

  4. Twist each strip a few times, then coil the twist around, tucking the end under the coil. Place each coil onto the prepared baking tray.

  5. In a small bowl, combine the egg and milk. Mix well. Use a basting brush to brush the egg wash across the top of each Nutella twist. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.

  7. Allow to cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely or serve warm. Enjoy!
