Sausage Squids

Ingredients

  • 2 sausage links, like Aidelle’s Chicken Apple Sausage

  • 1 tube crescent roll dough

  • ¼ cup garlic-herb butter, melted

  • 8 candy eyes, if desired

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375℉. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Cut the sausages in half along the length.

  3. Unroll the crescent dough. Cut the dough into 4 long strips.

  4. Wrap each strip of dough around the top half of the sausages.

  5. Cut 3 or 4 slits into the exposed end of the sausage. Place the sausages onto the baking tray with the seam of the dough down on the tray.

  6. Baste the dough in the melted butter.

  7. Bake the sausage squids for 18-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the sausage is cooked through.

  8. Immediately add candy eyes to the dough then cool on the tray for 2-3 minutes. Serve while warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
