Ingredients
For the cake:
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup cocoa powder
1 packet instant espresso
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ cup Bee Friends Farm Datil Pepper Honey
½ cup whole milk, room temperature
Semisweet chocolate chips, optional
For the icing:
½ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons Bee Friends Farm Datil Pepper Honey
1 tablespoon whole milk

Preparation
Preheat oven to 350℉. Lightly grease a 9x5 loaf pan. Set aside.
Make the cake: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, cocoa powder, espresso, and baking powder. Mix well and set aside.
Add the butter and sugar to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle. Mix on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and honey. Mix again until fluffy.
Add ½ of the dry mixture and ½ of the milk. Mix on low speed. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan. Use a silicone spatula to evenly smooth the batter. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, if desired.
Bake the loaf cake for 45-60 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
Make the icing: In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar, honey, and milk. Whisk well.
Drizzle the icing over the cake. Slice and serve.
