Worms 'n Dirt Pudding & Cake Cups

Choose to use small or medium sized cups or ramekins and set aside.

Prepare the instant pudding, per the box instructions. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator. 

Lightly grease a 13x9-inch baking dish and line the bottom with parchment paper. Preheat the oven and prepare the cake, per the box instructions. Pour the batter into the prepared dish. When the cake is done, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes in the baking dish before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Remove the creme from the sandwich cookies. Place the chocolate cookies into a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs. Set aside.

Once the cake has cooled, place on a cutting board and cut the cake in half horizontally (like a hamburger bun). Use a round cookie cutter, the same diameter as your ramekins, to cut as many circles from the two cake halves as possible. Discard the scraps, or save for another project.

Take the pudding out of the refrigerator for dessert assembly. Layer your ingredients in the following order (bottom to top): pudding, cookie crumbs, cake, pudding, cookie crumbs, and 2-3 gummy worms for decorating.

Enjoy immediately or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
